hi all Im after some advice please.

i have a tos olomouc f2v running a vfd straight to motor. the problem is now i have another vfd xsy-at1 to run the xyz motor for bed. which works fine. but i want to use the limiter switches which are normally closed. I've daisy chained them to make a circuit and was going to wire into com port and x1 on inverter and then program for the port as stop.but the problem is the ports are a switch ie button to stop or start. is there any way i can keep limiters and still use ports with a relay or and thing else.

      sorry its long winded

      cheers dave

Dont you need separate motors for X,Y & Z axis ?

If so perhaps consider using steppers under Arduino or similar control but incorporating limits.

Do you have access to the manual for hte VFD?

If not,the one posted here looks applicable:

You have six multi function inputs. Parameters P50-P55 control what each one does. Within those parameters, there are 20 options, half of which you can discard immediately. You will have to experiment with the others to achieve the desired behaviour (keying stop and stop keying seem to be two different modes). Note they use 'keying' to mean momentary switching and 'wire' to mean latched switching.

You need to think ahead a bit concerning what happens when you hit the limit switch – the feed motor will stop but then if you manually wind the table off the switch, what happens? If the switch re-making puts the motor back on, driving the table back onto the switch, that is not desirable. The limit switch activation needs to be like an emergency stop, and the switches themselves probably wired in series with the big red button – something that requires a full reset to make the motor run again.

thanks dc31k for the info. yes i need it to stop but im happy to move the blocks that pick up switches to allow more distance before running out as i would never mill anything that long i hope.. lol..

there is the wired to stop setting in the options which i will try to as well as yours .

              cheers dave
