I've never seen these used before what are they?

the components in beige with a centrally positioned black line mainly unmarked on the board

they are links but why in the resistor type package?dsc01567 (medium).jpg

2 are marked as being resistors on board – possibly being what appears to be a single sided board they are cross links or removable test links

Basically they're 0R resistors, used in this instance as links. The black band 'follows 'the standard resistor band coding, black signifying zero.

The resistor type package is probably used so that it can be auto-inserted by machine. A simple wire link couldn't be handled that way and would need hand insertion.

You also get them in Surface Mount.

                      regards Martin

I've never seen ones like that before, 0R SMT resistors yes, but not ceramic package.

                        Presumably it simplified manual assembly.

Much more interesting is what it comes from Are you a bass player, Ian?

I have an ancient Laney Pro-Bass head with two 2×12 cabs and a tweeter box (because they were easier to carry up fire escapes than a 1×15 bigger than and heavy as a washing machine). Last year I got an orange Crush 20 practice amp, which is nice
