For Nylon storage I have an air-tight cake box with an angled fitting (courtesy of Tinkerman's Filament Dryer on Thingiverse) and PTFE tube right to the extruder, after drying the filament and adding refreshed moisture absorbent packs in the box the relative humidity was reading around 2% after sealing for 5 minutes.

      What are you guys using?

Nick – I am just about to try Nylon printing. Have you tried Bridge type? Supposedly less hygroscopic. Would welcome any further nylon processing advice if you have a moment.

Rod, this is my first foray into Nylon, I just bought some cheaper stuff to try but as that looks very promising I'll probably take a punt on the pricier Taulman stuff in a week or two.

I'm using a glass bed with PVA glue at 70C with 260C extrusion temperature and the Nylon sticks REALLY WELL., having sorted drying and storage I'm not getting any steam at the extruder and I'm now in the process of dialling in the settings in the latest version of Cura

Nick – Mine too! So, I guess I will take a punt on the Bridge nylon. – Finishing my cabinet just now as this is recommended for both ABS and Nylon. Will let you know how I get on. Believe shrinkage is issue with each type of nylon. So will do a shrinkage test and adjust the model to suit, as I need some fairly accurate parts.

It seems to be getting me there with delivering dry Nylon to the printer.

                  Rod,

I'm managing to print the Nylon parts I want with just a heated bed and no enclosure, when I say they aren't dimensionally critical I mean that within 0.1mm gives me a part that will serve it's purpose.

I'm contemplating printing a couple of Myford 7 Tumbler Gears to see how the material performs

                    Rod,

The Taulman Bridge is very forgiving and this allowed me to get my machine running with Nylon and then optimise the settings, subsequently I've revisited the cheaper Nylon filaments I first bought and I'm currently running a test print of a fairly small detailed part with a 0.2mm nozzle and £20/Kg Nylon filament

                      dry Nylon to the printer.

                      But will it do Bri-Nylon

I must try nylon in mine.

                        Neil,

It definitely will do Bri-Nylon, or at least that's what most of my initial Nylon parts looked like

You need a Hot End with heat sink and fan just above the heater block to avoid jams with Nylon,

                        Regards,

                        Nick
