I made a handful of these Oil Cups for my ALBA shaper – not to any great Gothic style, just quick and simple – seem to work well.
I used brass tubing for the outer casing of the main body, and another piece of tubing that slides over this to form the protecting cover. The tubing is from K&S Engineering in Chicago, but seems to be available in most any decent hobby or RC shop. Another piece of thinner tube forms the tube that enters the shaper oil hole. These K&S tubes are manufactured to be a snug sliding fit inside each other. The body base cap is turned from 16mm brass bar, press fits into the base of the body tube, and a thin 1.5mm disc from said bar is pressed into the protective cap top. Everything is then soft soldered in a light gas flame. All cleaned up, and fitted!
The tubing:

The upper part of the body is cut with a pipe cutter to round the tubing off inwards – facilitates pushing the Protective cap on.

Fitted on the left side
And on the right
Yes, they do clear the pointer arm..
And no, the shaper is not a different color left and right..
