Have you ever had any problems with the L/hand valve seizing in the closed position?surprise

I take it the valves on the horizontal pipe must be adjusted to get the JD to coke ratio exactly to your taste.

I was wondering what a waste of perfectly good coke.

At least with copper pipes etc the insides should be clean on the coke side

That's a very silly machine. Everybody knows you're meant to snort coke. No way would that fit up my nose.

As a man who lives within a few miles of Speyside I wouldn't insult any whisky, or even what passes for whisky in the USA, by diluting it with Coke. A little water if you must….

                            Mike,

I think that you can rest easy: as the 'heads' of the two fluids are different I think that one is supposed to choose one beverage or the other.

Surely as depicted If there is any back-pressure at all in the outflow from the 'mixing tee' onwards then some 'coke' will flow into the whiskey??? For this reason I surmise that it is not a true 'mixing device'.

                            Yours, soberly,

                            Phil

Mike – you're talking proper Single Malt, as loved and appreciated, on it's own in the glass, not that rubbish: just feel sorry for the Yanks if all they have to put up with is JB and coke, of all things, that is simply not in the same league at all.

Mike, a little water is essential, discovering that changed me from being ambivalent about whisky to being rather over fond, to the extent that I only buy one bottle each Xmas, or I'd be permanently pickled.

To return to the original point of the thread, an obvious improvement is to remove the bottle of drain cleaner from the left hand side and replace it with a second bottle of JD as an installed spare.

That was my immediate question too. I'm not an engineer and even I could wonder at that.

I recall visitng an alcoholic client just before xmas 1980. I arrived at the same time as the Peter Dominic delivery van wheeling several cases of booze down the front path. But then again the client was on 2 bottles a day and couldn't function without. She once admitted to pulling over on the hard shoulder of the M1 for a top-up 'cos she was becoming incapable of drivingface 13.
