            Mal is that a very tidy weld around the rim or a slight chatter mark from a round nose tool if you cut them from solid, looking good either way

                Hi jason yep there chatter marks ,not made out of soild ,but pipe with a flat plate welded in and machined back.had a bit of chatter at the end.

                    img_20150811_215217.jpghi again a bit more progress on my Minnie build, front axle almost done bronze bearings sorted in the front wheels ,expansion link sorted eccentric straps done .Gear cutters arrived last Thursday cast iron bar due tomorrow gear cutting for the next step,blushor next week or two more like.img_20150811_183210.jpg

                                … but I presume the bend in the gear on the right is just lens distortion.

                                                      Comming along Mal, One thing you might want to do is cut a slot above one or both of teh crankshaft bearings just wide enough for the crankshaft to pass through. That way the bearing housing can be loosened, slid outwards and the whole crankshaft removed, if built as drawings you have to remove a hornplate to get teh crank out.

                                                      You may just be able to see the slot on the flywheel side of my 1" engine.
