      I have posted this in a few places its a heads up and may only effect me then again it has come from the UK source printers. My copy is 3rd edition and noted as 2011 re-print.

      I purchased Model Engineers Handbook by Tubal Cain 3rd edition some 3 yrs ago only ever flipped through it. Last night I dragged it off the shelf to do some ground work on electrics which is section 12 of the book. :bugeye: No section 12 not even section 11 or 13 I thought I was going :doh: bonkers as all I kept seeing was section 8, 9 & 10 yep they had bound the book with double those sections left out 11, 12 & 13.

      Waiting to hear from the supplier here in Victoria.

      I have not contacted the original printers.

          My 3rd edition has all those sections BUT section 10 is about boiler work? Can't see a printing date but its not that old.

              Could be they left out the electrical section as it did not comply with current regs being written 35yrs ago?

                My 3rd edition is as Jason says. It is the 3rd edition published by Nexus in 1996 and 10th impression from 2000.

                  Probbly an 'elf and safety decision

                  Old books can be rather amusing where electrical content is concerned

                  I recall one, I think it was an original sparey "amateurs lathe" where he recommended an earth wire because it's omission made a user "jump unexpectedly" if the lathe went live and this was "quite dangerous"

                    Read Ray's post properly – his book has section 8,9 & 10 in twice – it's a binding error, not censorship.

                    Misbound books are usually more valuable…

                      … unless you happen to want the content of the;

                      [quote from Raymond] "left out 11, 12 & 13."

                        Neil is right and so is Michael I want section 11 12 &13 section 12 mainly.

                        I hear from the company I bought it from Greg from Rally Badges rang me late yesterday he had checked hiss stock and has full section books on hand.

                        At $20 I am considering just buying a new book keeping the misbound in hope one day it may be worth more say $25 LOL.
