It's time for a reminder! I see loads of potential winners of the Readers' tips competition on the forum. It only takes a quarter of an hour to tyype a short description and take a couple for photos. What are you waiting for folks?

We have £30 in gift vouchers courtesy of engineering suppliers Chester Machine Tools for each month's 'Top Tip'. Email your workshop tips to meweditor@mortons.co.uk marking them 'Readers Tips', and you could be a winner. Try to keep your tip to no more than 600 words and a picture or drawing. Don’t forget to include your address! Every month I'll choose a selection for publication and the one chosen as Tip of the Month will win £30 in gift vouchers from Chester Machine Tools. Visit http://www.chesterhobbystore.com to plan how to spend yours!

Please note that the prize of Chester Vouchers is only available to UK readers. You can make multiple entries, but we reserve the right not to award repeat prizes to the same person in order to encourage new entrants. All prizes are at the discretion of the Editor.

Sorry Neil, but i am now bedridden and living in a nursing home. It is frightening how things can change in just a short space of time. In the last 12 months i first lost my wife, then my home, workshop, and everything we had worked for in the last 50 years.

It is frightening to read about your situation. Hope there are some good moments of happy memories for you to look back on. I also hope you continue to read and get some pleasure from reading posts on here and perhaps make comments when you feel like it.

                                Take care my friend.

Thank you to OLDIRON, and KETAN for your concern. Oldiron, i do have access to the internet via a laptop brought to me by my eldest son. It is a bit of a life saver as the days seam very long even with it. Ketan, i am really very sorry that you have now lost a very happy, long standing customer, however i still have mates in the hobby and i will continue to recomend your services for as long as i am able.

                                  Regards. Derek.

                                    Magpie,

Oh dear! So sorry to have read of your change of circumstances. Just read the above after replying to you on another thread. Try to make the best of things. There are many interesting YouTube films made by other model engineers in their workshops. I expect that you are very aware of them. Do keep in touch with the rest of us.

Good luck and very best wishes

It’s all good Derek. We have known each other for a very long time, and I am very grateful for all your help over the years, going beyond the seller – customer relationship. So thank you 😊 🙏🏽

So sad to learn of the loss of family members and abilities, but can sympathise..

Some 30 years ago, we lost out son, but my stiff knees are small in comparison with what others suffer.

Derek, keep in contact, so that you are still involved by proxy
