Quickly made from a bit of odd aluminium. Fixed to the travelling steady holes with M6 screws and a washer glued under the head. The holes in the tray have slots up to them hence the tray can be removed and replaced quickly. The screws tightened with fingers. As it is the length allows cuts right up to the chuck and the width keeps the lead screw from the great majority of the turnings. If I make another it will have a higher front side and the end that goes under the chuck would be made just to miss the chuck. I'd also make larger headed screws.
