        Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with this kit – I am thinking of it as an Xmas present.

          Hi There
          It is a superb kit.
I have one under the bench for a rainy day.
Construction was described in Engineering in miniature.
It has a lot of small fiddly details but looks superb when finished.
          regards David

              Hi Ken
There is an index at http://www.colinusher.org
Not sure of scale but the original was very small.
It was believed to be a demonstration engine for shows etc I think.
              regards David

Couple of people building them on this forum including one at a larger 1/6th scale. Also links to some photos of the original engine its based on.

Look just under the picture of the engine in James’s link and it tells you what issues of EIM cover the build.

I built one a number of years ago, the castings were superb and it came with all the bar materials and even the wood for the cleading.

The specified threads are metric so you better buy a tap and die set from 1.6mm and up.

I purchase my fasteners from a marine company, non of the normal suppliers stocked metric to such a small size.

Chronos used to sell a nice set.

                        Enjoy yourself.
