At the time of posting this it is £11.99 for 39". Yes, more than most of us will need.

Absolute bargain ! It would cost £50 ($95) here in Australia

Not if you want to buy a ton. Should you only need a foot or two then probably.

£13.99 for 1 mtr of 5/8" silver steel, I would grab that with both hands. A supplier I have used wants £20 for 12 inches and £70 for 39 inches….surprise

You need to be careful. There are at least 2 specs for the tolerance of the O/D size. The wider limit stuff is a lot cheaper, but if that's not an issue then it can save some £'s.

                        Cheers

You're not paying for the tonnage, you're paying for the reliable carbon content, the stable condition, and being round, straight, parallel and to size within tight tolerances. Those are worth that money.
