Are we allowed to say SOROTEC ??? What would our cherished suppliers say.

No problem with any company that pays its taxes etc. I expect their cutters come from the far east but they do make their machines in Germany.

Must be a German thing Jason.

I ordered some wood turning bits from Germany Five months ago and they came with free Haribo in with them, Nice people to deal with as well. Their english beat my school day german hands down but I tried !

Just reordered some stuff from them today as want it before this EU fiasco plays out.

Maybe the Germans don't like mints?

We used to install Altendorf saws. Each one used to arrive with a bottle of Schnapps packed inside the saw. Beats Haribo. The trick was trying to find out if the customer knew about it, if they didn't it quietly made it's way into the back of the van.

Yes – I took advantage of a CuP Alloys Doncaster Exhibition offer, and can concur with the service.

Huh , the German-built hacksawing machine one of my former employers bought to replace an aging Wicksteed machine, didn't come with bags of sweets, let alone Schnapps!

It did come with two very good ideas. It had huge slide-way bearing surfaces for the bow, and the hydraulics drove the bow down against two massive tension-springs so if they failed the springs would pull the bow up away from the work. Just a shame its auto-feed vice was to a ghastly design no amount of jelly sweets or brandy would make up for!
