Does anyone have a recommendation for a supplier of smaller quantities of metal in the Netherlands that has a reasonable pricing?

Thanks in advance, and merry Christmas.

Were do you live? And what do you need? For hot rolled steel I go to Hardeman in Veenendaal and for brass, free cutting steel and aluminium I go to the Locloods in Molenhoek.

          I live in Nijmegen myself.

Jann, at least ur in a civilised country……try buying stuff in SW France…….

I import all my materials from the UK and it's still cheaper than buying here…….

just order on-line and it's here quick sticks………

I ordered a large stock list from a certain supplier in Canterbury……£5,000……it was here in a week……my local supplier refused to sell it to me because I don't have a siret number (Frog, VAT number) still saved a bunch……

don't even look anymore…….anything special the customer has to supply……

the EU is dying but not rolled over yet……to much paper in the way…….hahaha…….

sorry guy's but roll on Brexit, appologies if thats swearing…….

            clogs…

Lived in Belgium for four years and found Western Europe to be a Model engineering desert ( nothing there ).

              Can anyone explain that ?

                In France I have found

http://acier-detail-decoupe.fr/ to be quite good for small quantities, delivered to a pickup point near you

Thanks for the replies so far.

Wout, Thanks for the suggestions … I'm in Amsterdam Noord, but with a car I can happily travel.

Speelwerk, I've been to see Metaalwinkel in Amsterdam Zuid already, but they are quite expensive as you already mention (€300 / m2 for 10mm hot rolled steel … but they do have a waterjet cutter, which is useful to know)

Any and all further suggestions welcome.

                    J

From what I've seen recently, it's because all their tools are made out of Belgian chocolate…

To be fair, truly up-to-date machining centres and fantastic laser cutting and welding facilities but 'home workshops' or 'clubs' , I did not find.

                            J Hancock, same'o, same'o………

Same as SW France, no clubs and no interest…….even the old car guy's are not that interested…….

did invite an add-hock club from North Bordeaux (about 10 guys, girls) to my place for T, Coffee and home made cakes last summer, no one interested…….loads'a 1920 cars and the odd 1912, but no takers…….guess if it were cheese and wine might be different……..hahaha………

out of interest, early May in Chania, Crete a big get together of antique cars and motorcycles, got stuck in Athens last year…..not gonna miss this years tho……….

                              there's a Brit in Normandy that's built a stunning lage scale traction engine……..lost touch I'm afraid…..

and of course Russ with the Austins south of me…….other than that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In France there is the Confrerie des Amateurs de Vapeur (C.A.V.), a club for all those interested in steam modeling. When I last looked their membership included over 30 members in Belgium. However in my corner of France (dept. 66) I was the only member but my membership lapsed a few years ago.
