I have used an Ebay supplier for some material. It was a good price and I noted down the EBay shop for further reference.

I was a little surprised to receive an email from the supplier saying that he now had an e commerce site up and running with the aim of supplying small quantities of material for the likes of us, without the dread Ebay charges!

I think that we should support this venture and the e commerce site is to be found at http://www.jenkinssteelonlinemetals.co.uk. There is currently a 5% discount if you simply type in ebay at the checkout.

They are situated at Cramlington, Northumberland for those that are local.

I have no connection with the company other than as a very satisfied customer.

        Regards,

        Andrew.

I''ve been using Jenkins for a while now, always on time and always get what you pay for.

To be honest I am still using their eBay shop as it is still cheaper than the website most of the time with free delivery accounted for.

Also worth checking out their clearance/bar end adverts. Got 30kg of various EN3/EN8 bar ends from 5/8 to 3 inch OD and from 6inch to nearly 18inch long for £40 the other week!

Interesting to know, thanks. I'll be passing within a couple of miles of them tomorrow while going up the A1. I'm almost tempted to drop in, but might be a tad tricky with a 30 foot trailer on the back. Industrial estates never seem to have enough car spaces, leading to some 'imaginative' parking.

Another vote for Jenkins, been using them for a while. last time I called in on my way home from holiday in Northumberland, very helpful and friendly, they have a massive stock of alloy steels. Said if I wanted anything specific, they would be happy to cut small quantities.
