I,m thinking of remaking my "Speedy" frames. I would like to use 4mm Bright Mild Steel. After searching the internet I cannot find a supplier. Does any body know of a supplier out there ?

I wouldn't even consider using bright plate, it's full of stress caused by the cold working, and is likely to distort as soon as you start shaping it. Use black, which I would get from a local fabricator for a contribution to the tea fund. Even better get it laser cut.

Lazermasters will cut a couple of rectangles of 4mm or you could get them to do all the cutting. I'm 95% sure their's is pickled & oiled so should not have the stresses of bright but will not have the scale of black

Edit they do S275 which is hot rolled

What's wrong with scale? It means you don't need marking out fluids, and the paint sticks better. It doesn't flake off, it's only very thin.

It also blunts your tools, I always chuck any black stuff in acid before I work on it, the scale soon drops off to leave a nice mat grey finish that you can mark out on.
