I am in the process of clearing out my workshop and unearthed a partly built Worden cutter grinder that has been lurking in a dusty corner for many years. While I am still able I thought I would finish the construction but I notice that the metal plinth that the motor sits on is missing. Can someone who has a Worden please give me the dimensions of the plinth so I can fabricate a replacement. It is the height of the plinth that is my main concern, the length and width don't matter so much.

          Hello Doug,

If someone doesn't reply sooner, I'll find the plans tomorrow and send a photo.

It's 3 inches on my Worden, but NB this is a Hemingway Kits machine so may differ in details from the original.

(The plinth is supplied ready-folded in the kit.)

Just measured mine. My kit was bought at least 30 years ago, so pre Bridgenorth days.

The plinth for the motor is 3" high

              Width 4 15/16"

Lrength 6 15/16" with a 1" wide flange along each side, for the M6 setscrews that pass through into the tappings in the bars that reinforce the base

On mine, the capacitor was a shade too long to fit into the box, so the rear face had to be bored to let the plain end of the capacitor protrude.

              HTH

              Howard.

I have the plans David but the dimensions are not given since the plinth was supplied already folded up. Thank you Nigel and Howard for supplying the dimensions I was looking for, much appreciated.

                Doug
