Looks like they would work quite well in a between ctrs boring bar

I used the short type in a cross drilled hole in the 5/8" toolholder of a Dore boring and facing head, tool bit secured with a grub screw in the end of the bar, or if the tool is angled to reach the bottom of a blind bore the securing screw was at 90 degrees to the toolbit.

            +1 for Emgee

Ages ago i was given a small baccy tin full of similar cutters in both HSS and carbide.

Donor said "You will find these handy as you have a small boring head." Presumably meaning they could be used as Emgee says in a shank with suitable cross drilled hole.

If I ever find the need I shall make a shank.

I think you might be right. For that type of boring head or line boring. Thanks.

                Sincere apologies!

For some unfathomable reason the post got reported. I accidentally pressed the wrong button and deleted the post not the report.

I don't know if Hollowpoint could replace the image?

                Sorry for the inconvenience.

They do look like the old style boring bar bits. And there is a toolholder for turning laying about in the workshop which holds something similar.
