      Hi,

I recently bought a set of 5” A3 castings and I would like to identify who supplied the castings. Each castings have a number cast into it. Does anybody recognise these kind of markings to a particular supplier.

      Many thanks.

      Jon

Possibly, the numkbers are the part number assigned to that part by the person / company ordering bthe castings.

Oncve the part identification is on the pattern, the castings could have been made anywhere.

At work, if we wished to change foundry, we requested return of the patterns and then sent them to the new supplier.

If we had two sets of pattern equipment for the same part, castings came from two different suppliers, possibly with one overseas.
