Sealing and painting the tank on a 4″ Garrett

Hello,

I'm building a 4" Garrett and have just finished building the tender/tank. Whilst the joints are generally sound I can't guarantee my riveting skills will have resulted in a water tight joint all round. Does anyone know of a product I can apply around the joints to seal them and the what paint / coating should I use on the inside of he steel tank to prevent any rusting?

Really appreciate any advice as this is my first traction engine and first posting!

Tenders and tanks can either be done with Isoflex and its associated primer or one of the fuel tank sealers such as POR15. which is a bit easier if access is tight. This will do all the sealing needed so you can just paint the outside as the rest of the engine.

That's really helpful Jason, thanks for the advice – sounds just the job. Off shopping now for the fuel tank sealer.
