Hi. I have recently purchased the drawings to build the Tiny Inline 4 I/C engine. It is a watercooled 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine of less than 4cc capacity. It looks like an older type car engine.

I wondered if anyone else was building one at the moment.

        Regards, Mike

Hi. I originally saw this engine on the HMEM site. The design and drawings by Kelly Kubishta are superb. The drawings are on A4 size sheets and are the clearest and most helpful I have seen.

I have made a few parts and include a photo of the nearly finished crankcase. I made a lot of swarf with this. I am lucky and have a milling machine to which I fitted simple digital scales. It would be very hard to machine this without the scales.

I have photos but have to work out how to add them here.

That looks superb; and I see the build thread runs to 42 pages, plus attachments.

… Plenty of reading for the Festive Season !!

Hi, I have added 4 more photos to my album. The crankcase, cylinder head, valve cover, sump, timing cover, inlet & exhaust manifolds etc are more or less finished.

I am now making the water pump and fan assembly. Next job will be the crankshaft. I might try a built up silver soldered one. If that distorts badly I will have to try machining one from the solid. Either way I think I will struggle.

                  Thanks, Mike

                    Hi.

4 more photos added. Flat plane crankshaft machined from solid and fitted with 5 split bronze main bearings. Flywheel (quite weighty) made and fitted, also front pulley, water pump, fan pulley and fan belt fitted.

Next job is to locative in the cast iron wet liners.
