Hi there,

Has anyone out there had any experience of building a Stuart Turner 800 gas engine please? I am helping a friend with his, and the drawings leave much to be desired. The current problem is with the casting that carries the gas and the air valves. Some of the dimensions are taken from the edges of holes, and are contradictory. Others just seem completely wrong. I would welcome any help, as I dont want to "guess" on someone elses project. Thanks a lot.

Hi Maurice,

I'm starting a project scratch building a gas engine using the Stuart Turner 800 as a basis for the design purely based on photos I've found and the odd description, do you know where I can obtain plans for the the Stuart 800, I'm especially interested in the Exahust, Inlet & Gas valve configuration ?

An old thread to resurrect, bit I have the same question as Colin. Does anyone know where the plans for the Stuart 800 can be obtained ? Otherwise, I can try some of the youtube builders as suggested above.

At the moment it’s curiosity – I like the idea of the side shaft and fly ball governor and I’d like to understand more about how it all goes together.

Sorry I was getting you confused with another David with a county as his surname who had the offer of using somebodys patterns to make an 800.
