Hi. I am complete beginer to model making. Have recently finished making the above engine, but cannot get it to run for very long , the best so far is about one minute usually ten to twenty seconds. Any one got any comments.

It won’t help but a friend is a stationary engine enthusiast and he told me the other day that a chap in his local club has also just completed this engine and, he too, can only get it to run for a few seconds.  I will nag at my mate to see if he can get any updated info, if he can I will post it here.

          All the best,  John

Does the engine falter and die as if it is running out of fuel, or does it stop more abruptly?

The engine slowing gradually to a stop could be fuel starvation or incorrect mixture.

A suddent stop could be due to a mechanical problem such a too little clearance between the piston and cylinder bore.
