Alibre Design run a competition, you can vote on the entries in the current competition here:

      **LINK**

Plenty of designs that will interest forum members.

If anyone wants to know more about a design I may be able to put folks in touch.

      Enjoy.

      Neil

<edit> I should credit the engine above to David Milway.

I hope their long term support of their software is better than their support for internet browsers. The website does not function on IE 11 on Windows 7. No don't tell me to use some other browser it's a company controlled laptop. The webpage only needs to support some pictures and links all trivial stuff in 1999 so no need to use geeky features of the latest version.

The original model was published in "The Model Engineer and Electrician" starting March 1923.

A 3D PDF can be down loaded from "https://sites.google.com/site/davesmodels/" where you can also see some of the other models I have created.

Or if you want to see one being built in the flesh have a look here. With the original drawings being easily available on the net there are several 3D versions about and at least one set of redrawn plans for building from scratch as the castings in my earlier link are hard to come by.

                Fantastic!

The author "Axel" who published the design in 1923 said it would make a good model.

                He was correct.

Opps that should have been "Axle"

Some of you may have seen latest newsletter from Alibre today – David Milway won 1st place in the competition (wonder if that was anything to do with visitors from here voting….).

Interesting that 1st to 3rd were all classic 'model' subjects!
