Has anyone tried to order through there website and had difficulty? I was trying tonight and I could place items in the basket but when looking at the basket it was empty and told me so. Nor could I find a way to log in. I will ring them tomorrow and find our whats what. It's not a disaster in that the items are gettable elsewhere, just interested really.

They do sell stuff on Ebay. Their shop is Ford eight.

Could be a browser issue. I had a similar problem ordering a Howell plan using Firefox. Everything went through fine using Chrome.

Thanks guys, I hadn't thought of browser issues and I am using Firefox, I'll try Chrome tomorrow, I had a look at the ebay store, the prices I was looking at were considerably more than the website,.hmm.

Not that unusual – I have found that eBay prices often include postage so that if you order multiple items you multiply the postage charges built in to the prices. Where I can, having found something on eBay, I often look for the company's web site to see if there is an alternative.

First time I bought steel from my local stockholder, I ordered via their web site. Prices weren't bad. When I went to collect, I was told that I shouldn't order that way. "Ring in your order, or just come in and buy over the counter." About 30% cheaper! Very helpful bunch for model engineers as well – happy to cut short lengths of the chunkier sections.

I recently had trouble ordering a Keyless Chuck from Rotagrip through their website. I subsequently spoke to Ian Cooper at Rotagrip who said they have issues with the website. Ordered over the phone without any problems.

Well it seems that if you have https level security in Firefox it will prevent you accessing some websites, Rotagrip appears to be one, relaxing the security level to http will allow access to place an order I have established. Chrome works straight off the bat fine but neither browser allows me access to Rotagrip's index page and I still can't find a login other than on the checkout so I suspect there is an issue with their website as Bo'sun suggests. Problem in getting stuff fixed even if there are obviously website issues.

Had the very same problem this morning.

As Bo'sun said, I called Ian and everything is sorted.
