Ive just been to try and sort out "slipping clutches" I was under the impression that the clutches were slipping, he adjusted the clutch adjuster nut inside and apparently this didnt help i was under the impression that with adjusting the clutch adjuster nut "so much" that this caused the handle to not stay engaged, it just walks back into the neutral position and doesent stay locked in either way.
So i thought making a thin spacer to pack the clutches out from the back so the nut wasnt so adjusted would make the handle stay in position again.
After an absolute NIGHTMARE making the spacer putting it all back together i said "are you sure its the clutches slipping and not just the handle locator not adjusted and causing the handle to not stay in position" he said "i dont know"…..
So now thats what im thinking it is, after all this i think its just the little cam/lever thing with a roller on the end, not engaging properly and locking the handle in position, theres the forward and reverse lever and the fast and slow lever, and its the fast and slow lever that is the worst, it just doesent stay where it should…. and i was under the impression that it was the clutches all this time, but seeing as they are just 2 types of metal and no clutch material at all then there should have been plenty of adjustment left, for the handle to click over and keep them engaged.
Sorry if im not making sense ive been there 6 hours working on it, ill go back tomorrow and take the shim out, and see if the lever just needs adjusting.
