I just did a search on ebay for 16mm (and 20mm) timing belts and found dozens of examples of belts and pulleys.

The question was for a " toothed (cogged) belt suitable for a lead screw drive". I would assume (I know, should never do that) that it is not for a smooth pulley. All of the electronic lead screw projects that I have seen use a timing belt, especially if used with a stepper motor for CNC.

I often use Bearing Boys for belts of all sorts, what you are looking for are timing belts which they list under transmissions. I wanted a smaller belt than the range they supply for the encoder drive but I got the belt and pulleys from them for the stepper drive. I have no connection other than a satisfied customer with the company. Service has been prompt and although I have not chased the absolute lowest price for items I have found their prices very acceptable.

Why would you need to make the 75mm pulley when they are available, something like this for XL size belts or this for T5 size belts and just modify to suit though you could make if you wanted to but you don't seem too keen to do that.

Not sure where you get your max an min bed speeds from but the minimum on mine is more like 3" and the max something like 12-15" ideal for rapid return and my spindle speeds are not any higher than yours. Simple way to work out what you need is to mount up a cutter and a bit of metal and mill it, make a note of how many times you turn the handwheel in 60secs to get rpm, Unlikely you take 20seconds to do one revolution unless you have something seriously wrong with your chip loading.

I've just stumbled upon this thread and, like Nick Hughes, I been using Belting Online for all my belt and pulley purchases. Their prices are what I consider very reasonable and delivery is as quick as 2nd class postie takes. I'm using a 60 tooth XL pulley on the leadscrew driven by a 20 tooth on the servo motor. The spindle encoder doesn't take much in the way of torque, so I've settled for 26 tooth pulleys and HTD3 belting, 9mm wide.
