These small (100mm centre height) Hofmann universal dividing heads have a detachable driven spindle that extends out from the rear of the chuck spindle, and which is used for differential dividing and helical gear cutting. I wonder if anyone has one of these and can describe it to me and the method of mounting? Sadly mine is missing and I would like to make a copy.

Your post is over 5 years old and perhaps you have had some replies? I have a Hoffman UTH 125, (i.e., the big brother of your UTH100) with the banjo and change gears.

What information are you actually looking for as it is not entirely clear from your post?
