Could someone out there help me please!!!

I bought a scheppach 2500 wet stone grinder off ebay about 2 years ago, when i received it the stone was badly out of true. I finally got it into shape but it took quite a while, the grinder works really well, i don't need to use it too offten. Aprox every 2 or 3 months and when i do the wheel is out of shape again. Everytime i have finished grinding i take the water trough away and dry the stone with a cloth, the stone is light blue in colour. I do not have an instruction manual. Would some know why this would be or even where i could purchase a manual.

      Many thanks, Alan.

I have a Tormek which is a similar type of grinder and don't have any problems with the stone even if its left to dry.

You may get some better responces from a woodworking forum as they are mostly used by woodworkers, try UKWorkshop

NMA are the UK agents so should be able to help with the manual

Like Jason I have a Tormek, but the Scheppach is a copy of this.

Is the apparent out of shape on the circumference or the sides? If sides maybe it is shifting along the spindle, also spindle wear would also make it wobbly. They do go so slowly that wear is likely to be minimal, but worth checking.  Greasing the journals may help.

When using it after the stone has dried out, do you leave it running in the full water trough for a while until the stone is fully soaked before using it. The stones absorb a good deal of water..

            Quote from the Tormek instructions

"Fill the trough with the grindstone running and the trough raised until the water reaches the MAX WATER LEVEL  line.   Continue filling until the stone cannot absorb any more water, which is approx. 1.2 litre (2 pints).   The stone must run in water at all times when grinding."

            Thirsty ain't it.

Many thanks for the replies – much appreciated

The bearings have been replaced and it is still doing this. I will this link and hopefully get a manual.

              Thanks again.
