So it's been good steady progress on the lathe (full blog here), but the lathe has moved on a lot since the original condition:

I have made a lathe bench (photos here and here) to mount the lathe, I'd had an old cast-iron frame but it was way too wobbly.

Once that was complete, I managed to get on with the mounting of the lathe (photos here) and wiring up the electrics – including a new fuse box, shielded 2.5mm wiring to the emergency stop and dewhurst switch to the new motor (photos here)

The final part has been rebuilding of the headstock (photos here and here)

I'm quite pleased with the progress so far, given where I started. Still much has yet to come in tuning and proving the accuracy of the finished product.
