I need to make a replacement tilting bracket for my Quorn T&C grinder, I have a large lump of 6082 alloy that is the right size. Any thoughts on suitability, possibly with the addition of a bronze bearing for the rotating base shaft, other than that it;s going to be hogged out of a lump of steel.
I know the casting for this part is only £18 but I hate buying when I can make from stock.
cheers
CB
Thought I'd add, I'm using split cotters for clamping rather than the split and pinch method shown in the drawings/book.
