Hi, first time on here and would ask a question. I recently had a lathe come into my possesion and wondered if anyone knew of the makers history, and if any spares were available. The makers name plate says it is a 'Holbrook' and is obviously a number of years old, but it is not anything like the lathes of the same name you can see in many books from a long time ago. Somewhat bigger than the 'Myford' range, more in keeping I would think with the Boxford sort of size or maybe slightly larger. Thanks

Thanks for those replies. I do not have any model number on this machine, all I know is that it was apparently the last one of a small batch put together by one of the guys that worked for Holbrook Lathes. He used to show them at exhibitions and this was one of the last he produced. It is (I think) a 4½ centre, with a gearbox etc. Not on its original stand. Bit vague maybe but then thats all the info I have to offer.

That would look to be a very nice bit of kit you've acquired Nathan – the write up on 'Lathes' is very complimentary.

                  Regards,
