I have to make a siphon from 1/16" pipe bent around a 1/2" former. Should I anneal the pipe before bending, personally I feel so but guidance would be welcome?

      Regards

      Martin

          a couple of Questions –

o is it Copper Tubing ?

o how many Turns will the Siphon have ?

o are you intending to use a grooved Former and Roller ?

Not long done one for Stuart Boiler, I annealed mine simply due to silver soldering pie fittings on it I then bent it around a drill.

Always anneal before bending the tube will work easier and the inside and outside of the bend will more readily contract and expand.

Copper, 2 turns, no just a piece of bar.

Thanks, you have confirmed my thoughts.

Just to finish this off. I made one that would have been fine except it was blocked by excess solder, a second more careful attempt works perfectly and bending was much less scary than I imagined.

                  Regards
