I seem to end up with other people's cast offs. Equipment, too good to throw away, too expensive to have repaired. In my collection of these cast offs, I have a rotovator (Briggs and Stratton), Strimmer(s), one Ryobi the other BS, a McCullock chain saw, mower BS and a ride on mower (Without the mower bit) again BS. The mower is OK as it is electric start and its the alternator that won't charge sufficient to maintain the battery for the whole summer and winter as I just use the tractor bit for hauling wood in winter and garden water in the summer.
The other reluctant starters I get going with a whif of butane gas from a gas torch. Its a bit like using EasyStart, but it doesn't wash the cylinder walls. Just give a squirt of gas up the carb filter and away they go. Once started, they usually re-start without effort, its just the cold start that's a bit difficult.
