I don't know if anyone has posted about this but Tormach have appointed an agent in the UK so from now on it should be easier to get their machines in the UK.

Tormach has long been engineered and supported in Waunakee, Wisconsin. In fact, the business started in 2001, just down the road from our current headquarters, when two friends had a series of casual conversations about the lack of small, quality CNC machines that were available.

This is good news, there is a definite gap in the market for machines like these.

Oh! And is anyone going to tell Tormach that the union jack is upside down?

              For anyone wondering…

The Union Flag flown upside-down is a maritime sign of distress, but the machine in the photo is listing heavily!

Still, I wish the company well.

Last para of the PR –

"Andy Grevstad, Tormach’s Business Development Director, said, “Customers have been clamoring for a better way to purchase our mills in the British Isle[sic], and we’re excited to finally have some boots on the ground in the UK. We’re hoping that this can be a path forward for more distribution throughout Europe.”

Maybe they chose the wrong base for that…

Just for the sake of argument, say I had bought a Tormach mill and then written a book about the journey from purchase through assembly to learning how to use it, from the standpoint of a complete newbie, would it be bad form to promote the book on a forum like this?

We don't allow advertising on the forum but you could take out an add in ME or MEW or even one of the banners down the side of the page.

Ah OK, that's what I wondered. Fair enough. Any advice as to how to place adverts gratefully received. Book is with publisher at the moment, but will be looking to advertise soon. Thank you Jason.

Maybe not a book. But it would make a good series on youtube for beginners. Unless you were thinking of a money scheme I.E a book to sell.

                          Steve.

Hmmmm, Angela's email defaults to David Holden, and that email is baulked and fails. ???

Had a look at a smaller unit

If I sell some of my body parts I might just swing it…

From memory the big issue with CNC purchases is support

Got the same problem when I just tried it, I've e-mailed a couple of other staff members to look into it.

Hi JasonB in the end I did manage to get in touch with Angela, thanks, and she was extremely helpful. In two days time, the May editions of ME and MEW are printed, I understand from Angela, and there will be some adverts for the new book, which was published today. Thank you for your help regarding this.
