Hello all, apologies as this is not model related but could do with some advice.

Anyone using Fusion 360 commercially for machining?

Hi Brian – not commercially but lots of us will be using it for milling and turning, including me.

There are many industrial users – but what’s behind the question ?

We currently use Autodesk / Delcam Power mill and Power shape for all our tool room machining.

Since Autodesk bought up Delcam they have been developing Fusion 360 using Delcams technology.

We have recently bought a Hurco 5 axis machine, I am trying to decide if to stick with Autodesk or move over to Hexagon Visi NC (which we use for all our design)

I have spoken to our Autodesk dealer but don't seem to be able to get a simple answer to these questions.

1. Will fusion 360 be able to produce cutter paths for simultaneous 5 axis machining?

2. How much will it cost?

News just in from Autodesk

March update to Fusion 360 will add 3+1 and 3+2 CAM as part of the flat rate licence with 4 and 5 axis only available via Extensions. All for less than a subscription to Sky. What's not to like ?

Have a look at NYCNC on YouTube, lots of information from a professional shop that started in a flat a few years ago. Very informative.

I bought my licence not long after attending an NYC CNC training course. Autodesk were offering 50% discount which was an offer I couldn't refuse. They still seem to offer discounts of 30% every now and then.
