      Hi,

      I am based in the UK and was wondering if anyone had any tips on sellers/ merchants that sell inexpensive yet reliable End Mill Cutters. I use '2 flute' 'TIAN coated' cutters but haven't been able to find anything cheaper than about £8 – £10 per unit.

      Does anyone know of anywhere good to buy Mill Cutters more cost effectively as it just seems I might be paying too much.

      Happy to buy in bulk if necessary.

          Could try Arc HSS and Carbide both Tiain coated

            What sizes, and materials do you cut? Why are you using a lot? Could you re-sharpen them? Would it be worth getting an EMG12 or making a grinding jig?

                Well if you are using a lot of cutters then its very cost effective only need to sharpen 80 times and its paid for itself.

                When I had one for review I did 40 cutters so at Eddies£ 8-10 a pop I got £450 back in a couple of hours.

                  EMG 12 only grinds the end of the cutting flutes, so flutes will not be restored to new cutting condition, Eddie has said he uses a lot which I take it to mean he's cutting the max DOC with the flutes doing the work, not just plunge cutting.

                    Are you sure that 2 flute are the best to use. I find that with the relatively low rigidity of amateur machines that 3 & 4 flute cut better and last longer for most work.

                      When I use 6mm 2 flute cutters in my CNC router, I generally use a max DOC of 3mm, very rarely using the max of 19mm. The Chinese ones are sometimes a bit stingy on overall length and the secondary clearance is not that good. But it all depends on what type of material and machine is being used.
