Is there anyone out there who can tell me where I can purchase thrust bearings for a Tom Senior M1 X Y and Z feed handles, 5 required. I have been trying on the internet to no avail for the last two days. Many thanks

Have you been searching in particular for Tom Senior parts or just for the type of bearing you require? In the past I have taken an example of the bearings I require to the local bearing dealer (not BSL) and asked them for a matching item. They have managed to help me on two occasions. Also, Denford's took over the supply of spares when Senior's went out of business so it may just be worth checking with them if they could help. My thanks to Brian and Chris for their very quick replies. I will most certainly act on their advice/recomendations. Unfortunately what I failed to mention was that i actually live in Phuket, Thailand, so I'm affraid nipping out to bearing services etc. is out of the question. As I mentioned I've spent 2 days trying to locate something on the internet but I cannot even find a bearing manufacturers product list to help me. I will use the links provided and hopefully secure the parts required in the UK. Mamy thanks, Colin

Ketan Swali at **LINK** is a mine of information on bearing types and may well be able to advise on what to get. Could also supply from the UK or given his international contacts recommend a supplier in Thailand. Bearings are usually made to global standards.

This firm may have something similar. If you have a lathe, then making or modifying to use a similar bearing would be easy, I can'y remember if I reused or replaced the thrust bearings on the museums TS when it was refurbished. You need to measure the OD, bore and the thickness of the three parts.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to respnd to my request for help. I was refered to Simply Bearings of Leigh { Gtr Manchester } and what a fantastic service I recieved. I was emailed back within a couple of hours with the news of what I wanted was in stock. The bearings are now on their way to me in Phuket so once again thanks to all. Colin

You need to measure the OD, bore and the thickness of the three parts.

Or four parts if a shim washer is required/involved. I needed to make extra/different shims when I repaired my jack hammer. Not really anything to worry about, though.
