      plate.jpgadjuster 2.jpgHello All

Thought you might like to see a few photos and it in place on the pivot plate and, this, hopefully, is how it's supposed to work. With renewed thanks to everyone who commented and advised, without whom I'd have probably have made a banjax.

That's a nicely made part. I would like to see a picture of the car.

I sometimes wish my A7 still had the standard brakes instead of hydraulics, the cylinders of which are a pain to replace if you don't use them for a long while. Ask me how I know.

Maybe that's a marketing opportunity in the old car world. An automatic (timed) brake-pumper that could push the pedal once a week while the vehicle is in storage.

Perhaps a fat rat in a cage attached to the pedal. When he eats too much from a food hopper suspended over him, the increased weight makes the cage fall and the brakes are applied, after a few days (weeks) of fasting, the rat is lighter and the pedal and cage rises and the rat feeds once again making the pedal go down.

              Perhaps not !

Rain activated? Sort of like the bobbing birds that drink out of a cup.

I was planning on putting hydraulics on my Seven, but opted to convert them to TLS instead for that reason.

James. Twin leading shoe sounds like a better idea than hydraulic. I have 3 A7s, they all have hydraulic, so I have 3 cars to rebuild the brakes on. If they were cable/rod, I could be driving them instead!

When a friend took his A7 to a local garage to have it converted to hydraulic, he gave them my number so they could contact me for advice. When the owner of the garage phoned me to ask what to do, I said don't do it. Rebuild the standard brakes completely, with brand new parts. He agreed and my friend didn't have the work done. I sold the hydraulic conversion for him, I should have kept the bits for myself!
