K.N.Harris (and others) credit C.M.Keiller with the development of a number of the formulae used to design Live Steam locomotives – eg smoke tube length L divided by bore squared to be 60 to 80. However I have not been able to, so far, find where the articles were published.
Harris mentions a ME article June 15 1938 (actually that appeared in 1939 not 1938) but that deals only with specific work on one locomotive and is not a generalised article.
Can anybody give me some clues as where/when Mr Keiller's works were published?
