Can anyone recommend an easily accessible (ie no chemistry set required) flux that will allow me to soft-solder stainless steel?
Before you ask, I have to shorten some multi-strand stainless steel control cables of about 1.6mm overall diameter. I normally 'flash' these cables with a TIG welder, which prevents them turning into feather dusters at the end. But I am working today with some very flexible cables with particularly fine strands, which leave me with odd strands peeling out. Hence, prefer to solder these and then cut.
Cheers, Colin
